Bowling Green Woman Killed in Tuesday Morning Crash

A Bowling Green woman is dead from injuries suffered in a two vehicle crash on Highway 54 just east of Business 54 near Bowling Green at 7:29 Tuesday morning.

The Highway Patrol reports 55 year old Cindy Christensen was westbound when her SUV drifted across the center line and was struck head on by an eastbound semi driven by 27 year old Jeffrey Stone of Girard, Kansas.

Both Christensen and Stone were taken to Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana. Stone was treated for minor injuries, while Christensen was pronounced dead.

U.S. 54 was closed most of Tuesday morning as a result of the crash.
