The body of a missing southeast Missouri man has been found in a drainage ditch, but authorities say there is no evidence of foul play.

The Poplar Bluff Daily American Republic reports that 40-year-old Jamie Ferrill of Doniphan was reported missing by relatives on Friday. His body was found Wednesday afternoon near the spot where his truck and dog were earlier found, in a field near Qulin.

Butler County Coroner Jim Akers says there were no signs of trauma, and evidence suggests an accidental drowning. Authorities believe the truck may have been stuck in the field near the drainage ditch before Ferrill got out of the vehicle.
