Experts have released a list of the best places to raise a family across the US, but which city in Missouri do they rank as the place to raise a family?

According to the experts at WalletHub, the best place to raise a family in Missouri in 2024 is...Kansas City. Kansas City ranks 91st overall on the ranking of the best places to raise a family and is the highest-ranking city on the list from the Show-Me State.

How did WalletHub determine these rankings? On the site, they say, "WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities based on 45 key metrics that consider essential family dynamics, such as the cost of housing, the quality of local school and health-care systems, and the opportunities for fun and recreation." They do go on to mention that they hope this list will give families a better sense of their options for where to raise a family. What are the best places to raise a family according to the list? Number 1 is Freemont, California, followed by Overland Park, Kansas, Irvine, California, Plano, Texas, and Seattle, Washington. It should be noted that the list doesn't favor St. Louis, as it is ranked a very low 159th out of 182. To see the full list, click here!

Did they get it right?

I would say this list should have been titled "We Rank the Top 180 Most Populated Cities in the US from Best to Worst for Raising a Family in 2024" Because there are soooooooo many great small towns across the country that are better places to raise a family than cities like Kansas City. I would add that I am surprised that Kansas City is THAT much higher on the list than St. Louis, I feel like they should be much closer to one another on the list.
