Barry Woman Ticketed in New Canton SUV Crash

A Barry woman is ticketed as the result of a single vehicle crash in New Canton, Illinois at 4:35 a.m. Friday.

Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood reports 37 year old Jennifer Erke was westbound on East Mississippi Street in New Canton when her SUV ran off the road, struck a utility pole and rolled over.

Erke was arrested for failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash, driving while license is suspended and DUI.

Along with emergency personnel, Ameren and Frontier crews were called to the scene to restore utility service.
