Juvenile Hurt, Ticketed in Brown County Crash

A Mount Sterling teenager is hurt and ticketed after a one car crash on Highway 99 near Hersman in Brown County just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The Illinois State Police reports the 17 year old juvenile male was westbound when he lost control of his car, which ran off the road and struck a ditch.

The teen was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The juvenile was also charged with DUI alcohol, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to wear a seatbelt and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.
