ATV Accident Claims Life of Lorraine Man

An Adams County man lost his life following an ATV accident on a farm near the Adams/Hancock County line.

Deputies responded to the accident shortly after 12:00 pm on June 7 according to Hancock County Sheriff Scott Bentzinger.

Duane A. Tobias, 64, of rural Lorraine, Illinois was operating the ATV on his farm property. Tobias was found deceased at the scene of the accident. The cause of death investigation is pending.

Assisting at the scene were the Adams County Sheriff's Office, Adams County EMS, Lorraine Fire Department, and the Hancock County Coroner.
