Arrest Made in Shelbina Vehicle Theft
A man suspected in a Shelbina vehicle theft is in custody.
Shelbina Police say 26 year old Ryan Albin of Shelbina is charged with tampering with a motor vehicle, burglary and stealing. Police say they were notified on Memorial Day of a vehicle theft near Shelbina Elementary. Officers say they were contacted Thursday about a vehicle eastbound on 36 near Hunnewell and a brief pursuit ensued before Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers terminated it due to safety concerns. The vehicle was located again on Sunday and pursued into the Monroe City area. The driver hit several objects before fleeing on foot in the Sycamore Lane area in Monroe City. Albin was arrested following a brief foot pursuit. Police say several power tools were found in the stolen car.
