Illinois Department of Public Heath Officials are investigating a case of Legionnaire's Disease in the state.IDPH reported over the weekend for an unidentified Illinois resident has come down with the disease. Additional information about the individual including home town and condition is not available from the IDPH. Information is being gathered about the individual’s travels to identify potential sources. Locations being investigated include the Capitol Complex in Springfield and a hotel where the individual stayed. Out of an abundance of caution, IDPH is providing this information to the public, given that water samples recently collected from the Capitol Complex tested positive for Legionella. Legionella bacteria occur naturally in the environment.
