Adams County Sheriff Warns of Possible IDES Letter Scam

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office warns of a possible scam involving the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

Officials report several residents have let them know about receiving Unemployment Insurance Finding letters regarding their eligibility for unemployment benefits.

The letter appears legitimate. If you feel such a letter was sent to you fraudulently or in error, you should go to the IDES website or call IDES Benefit Payment Control Division at 1-800-814-0513.
