About 150 Adams County voters had to go to a different location after their polling place burned to the ground.

The McKee Township polling center near Liberty burned late Monday night or early Tuesday morning. The fire was discovered when an election judge arrived to open the center Tuesday morning.

McKee Township Supervisor Greg Kestner told authorities the fire appeared to have been intentionally set. He said filing cabinets were opened and the polling booth had been moved.

Displaced voters were directed to cast their ballots either at the Liberty Township polling place or at the Adams County Clerk’s office in Quincy.

Adams County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the fire.
