The Adams County Board will go back to the drawing board on bids for construction of a new jail.

The board Tuesday rejected all four bids that were submitted for construction of the 184 bed facility.

The county had budgeted $29-million dollars for the project, and the low bid of the four submitted was just under $34-million.

The Jail Exploratory Committee will now review the project to make changes that would bring the new jail in under budget and then re-bid the job.

The board hopes to be able to approve a bid by September and start construction on the new jail by October.
