The Quincy City Council met in regular session and the Adams County Board met in special session Monday night.

The city council approved the applications of three local businesses for funding through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.

The fund was set up to help businesses hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The council voted to recommend Sterling Awards and Signs, Grown-n-Gathered and Verve Aesthetics’ requests to receive $25,000 in assistance.

The Adams County Board also approved applications for funding from Terstriep Concrete and Excavating and The Ambiance.

The county board also approved its Road to Recovery plan on reopening Adams County.
Board chairman Kent Snider said he would forward the plan to Governor J.B. Pritzker for review.
