After an extended discussion, the Quincy City Council voted Monday night to table a proposed ordinance requiring the registration of residential rental property.

Mayor Mike Troup said he would like to take a couple of months to get more input from the public and local landlords to make a better ordinance.

The council approved a new coffee shop at 7th and Broadway, on the condition the business would work with the city on traffic flow around the business.

And, Mayor Troup announced the formation of the Quincy Riverfront Development Foundation to collect private donations to help develop the city’s riverfront.
