Quincy Council Approves Business Development District
The Quincy City Council Monday night approved the creation of a business development district at the Quincy Town Center and a sales tax associated with the district.
By a 10-3 vote, the council waived a third reading of the proposed ordinances.
The purpose of the district and the sales tax is to improve existing business and recruit new businesses to the Town Center.
Along with the additional sales tax, a one percent hotel-motel tax would be imposed on any future developments within the district.
