Accidental Shooting in New Canton

Authorities in Pike County Illinois say a 24 year old New Canton man was taken to Blessing Hospital early Saturday morning with a gunshot wound to the head.

The shooting is reported as accidental. Sheriff David Greenwood says deputies were called to a residence on Walnut in New Canton at 2:08 Saturday morning. The
shooting remains under investigation. The victim's condition is unavailable.
