A suspicious person report Monday in Hannibal results in two arrests.
Hannibal Police say they were called to a business in the 1200 block of Broadway for a suspicious person. The caller told police a male attempted to cash a personal check without proper identification and was in the parking lot in a vehicle with out of state license plates. When police contacted 26-year-old Christoper Garrison of North Dakota and 24-year-old Torrie VanPelt of Wyoming, police say both gave conflicting stories of who they were and what they were doing. Further investigation revealed the vehicle was reported stolen in Montana. Garrison and VanPelt were taken to the Hannibal Police Department.

Police say Garrison admitted during questioning to burglarizing a house and stealing a car in North Dakota and stealing other vehicles in Montana and Wyoming. He is held on numerous charges.

VanPelt is charged with tampering in the first degree and is also held in the Marion County Jail. Warrants were issued Tuesday against both individuals in the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County. Bond is set at $10,000.
