Grocer with 83 Wisconsin Stores Suddenly Has Property for Sale
I really should pay more attention. That's advice I get often that I really should take to heart. I had not noticed before that one of the more popular grocery chains in Wisconsin that often opens new stores now is selling some property and I'm pretty sure I know what's going on.
It's hard to visit a small town in Wisconsin without seeing an Aldi store. Their corporate site says the current count is 83 stores in Wisconsin. What I had not noticed before is Aldi now has a Wisconsin property for sale. This is the address listed on their "available properties" page:
1910 N. Shawano St.
New London, WI
2.9 acres
Land for Sale
This is the Google Street View of that address which is a couple years old.
Here's the context for why this land is for sale in Wisconsin from the Aldi site:
It's not the Aldi store that's located in this Wisconsin place, but the land adjacent to it. That makes perfect sense.
I'm more accustomed to seeing Aldi announce a new grand opening as they reportedly have plans for up to 800 new stores over the next several years. Just surprised me to see them selling a property. Like I mentioned, I really do need to pay better attention from now on.
