Victims of Saturday Boat Crash Identified

The two women who died in the Saturday night crash of a boat and a barge on the Mississippi River at Hannibal have been identified.

Officials with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources say that 49 year old Kimberly Jameson and 42 year old Barbara Ann Young, both of Hannibal, died in the mishap.

IDNR says the motor on the boat on which Jameson, Young and five others were riding failed and the river current pushed the boat into the barge.

Jameson was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash Saturday night. Young’s body was recovered from the river about 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

The investigation into the incident continues.
