A breach of contract lawsuit filed by former Bowling Green City Treasurer Barb Finley has been sent to Marion County.A judge issued the change of venue order during a hearing Thursday.

Finley is seeking unspecified damages after being fired abruptly from the appointed position in November 2009 without public explanation. City officials at the time said there was no evidence of criminal wrongdoing.

Finley claims in the lawsuit that the city did not follow its own employee guidelines.  She alleges wrongful termination, defamation and emotional distress. The city has denied the allegations.

Named in the lawsuit are the mayor, members of the board of aldermen and former City Administrator J.D. Kehrman, who now lives in Nevada, Missouri.
