Vandalia Man One of Three Killed in Mexico MO Crash

A Vandalia man is one of three people killed in a two car crash on the U.S. 54 bypass in Mexico at 1:20 p.m. Monday.

The Mexico Department of Public Safety reports 82 year old David Brenneke of Iowa was northbound on the bypass when his car crossed the center line and struck a southbound car, driven by 20 year old Cole Grimes of Vandalia.

Grimes, along with David Brenneke and his passenger, 85 year old Joyce Brenneke, also of Iowa, were all pronounced dead at the scene.

The bypass was closed for about an hour and a half following the crash.
The crash is under investigation.
