Unemployment rates are reported lower around northeast Missouri.

Seeing the biggest decreases were Clark and Shelby counties.  Smaller decreases were seen in Knox, Lewis, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Pike and Scotland counties and in the city of Hannibal. Ralls County’s jobless rate was unchanged from July.

Missouri’s overall unemployment is reported down slightly in August even though the state lost more than three thousand jobs, mostly in durable goods manufacturing, health care and social assistance industries.
