Two Suspects Accused in Southern Illinois Beating Death
Two men are accused of involuntary manslaughter in last weekend's beating death of a man in the southern Illinois town of Christopher.
Franklin County prosecutors also charged 28-year-old Timothy Curwick of West Frankfort and 18-year-old Dustin Mandrell of Christopher with aggravated battery. Each man is jailed on $250,000 bond.
Authorities say 40-year-old Scott Maceri died Saturday after being beaten, kicked and choked.
WSIL-TV reports that Mandrell was paroled in November after serving four months of a five-year sentence for forgery and burglary.
Online court records don't show whether Curwick and Mandrell have attorneys. Neither man has a listed home telephone number.
