McKenzie Ruled Fit to Stand Trial for Murder

A Quincy man has been ruled fit to stand trial for the beating death of another Quincy man.

In Adams County Circuit Court, the results of a mental fitness exam of Derek McKenzie found that McKenzie is fit to stand trial in the death of 48-year-old Billy Graham December 7.

McKenzie is alleged to have beaten Graham to death with his fists and a metal C-clamp in an apartment on North 5th Street above Izzey’s Bar and Grill.

A preliminary hearing has been set for January 12.

McKenzie remains in the Adams County Jail on $5-million dollars bond.
