Date Set for Derek McKenzie Murder Trial

A Quincy man will stand trial early next year in connection with the beating death of another Quincy man.

At a status hearing Tuesday in Adams County Circuit Court, January 22nd was set as the trial date for 30 year old Derek McKenzie.

McKenzie faces two counts of first degree murder. He is alleged to have beaten 48 year old Billy Graham to death with his fists and a metal clamp in the apartment above Izzey’s Bar and Grill on North 5th Street on December 7th, 2015.

McKenzie has another status hearing scheduled for July 28th. He is in the Adams County Jail on $5-million dollars bond.
