Over two dozen new Missouri State Troopers will report to their new assignments with the coming of the new year.

There was a ceremony Friday to observe the graduation of 27 troopers from the Highway Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, the culmination of 25 weeks of training for each of the new troopers.

A couple of northeast Missourians are among the graduates.

Jacob Hirner of New London and Taylor Leftwich of Palmyra were part of the 106th recruit class.

Hirner will report to Troop H in Andrew and Buchanan counties. Leftwich’s first assignment is Troop A in Ray and Carroll counties.
