One Arrest Follows Quincy Business Burglaries

Quincy Police report an arrest following investigations into burglaries and thefts at several Quincy businesses.

Officers say 41 year old Michael Smith was arrested Wednesday near 7th and Broadway. Smith’s arrest follows recent break-ins targeting coin operated machines. Smith is held on criminal damage to property, burglary and theft from a coin operated machine following reports from the Southside Laundromat, The Dock, Hometown Tavern and The Racquet Club. Officers say Smith also faces a possession of methamphetamine charge and was wanted for failure to appear on a forgery charge. Smith was taken to the Adams County Jail.
