Two Hannibal men are in the Marion County Jail on a variety of charges.

HPD officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad were on surveillance in the 1300 block of Union Street at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday when they observed 35 year old Samuel Workman, who was wanted for possession of meth and a parole warrant.

Workman tried to flee on foot and was subdued by a Taser. Workman reportedly had a large quantity of meth and cash on his person.

After Workman was taken to jail, officers observed 38 year old Steven Motley, who spotted officers and tried to walk away. He was detained by officers, who found that Motley was wanted on outstanding warrants for probation violation in Ralls County, unlawful use of a weapon in Marion County, and on a municipal warrant. Motley was also taken to jail.

A search of Workman’s residence revealed a large quantity of meth and cash.

Along with the warrants, Workman has been charged with manufacture/delivery/distribution of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
