Two Arrested in Hannibal, Pike County MO Meth Bust

An investigation into the transport and sale of methamphetamine between Frankford and Hannibal results in two arrests.

Hannibal Police report Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad officers made a traffic stop in the 4000 block of Market Street in Hannibal Tuesday.

The stop resulted in the discovery of a large amount of what was believed to be meth.

As a result, 36 year old Nicole Chestnutt of Hannibal was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold.

Charges of drug trafficking were filed against Chestnutt Wednesday.

She is in the Marion County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Also on Wednesday, ACES officers coordinated with Pike County, Missouri deputies and East Central Drug Task Force agents to execute a search warrant for a residence in the 200 block of Newton Street in Frankford.

As in the traffic stop, a large amount of meth was discovered. This resulted in the arrest of 37 year old Matthew Yates of Frankford, who was also placed on 24-hour hold.

Warrants were issued Thursday against Yates, charging him with trafficking drugs and keeping or maintaining a public nuisance.

Yates is in the Pike County Jail on $500,000 bond.

The Ralls County Sheriff's Office also assisted in the investigation and the arrests.
