Two Area Traffic Crashes Thursday

A collision involving a semi and a pickup truck on Illinois 96 at the westbound I-72 on ramp at 8:55 Thursday morning results in moderate injuries for a Plainville man.

Illinois State Police say a northbound semi driven by 76-year-old Donald Powers of Durham turned in front of a truck driven by 63-year-old Jeffery Snyder as Powers attempted to make a left turn onto the ramp. Snyder’s vehicle sustained extensive damage when he hit the trailer. Snyder was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Powers is charged with failure to yield.

A one car crash on US 54 in Pike County Missouri results in moderate injuries for a Bowling Green man. The Missouri Highway Patrol says a car driven by 21-year-old Mica Grimmett failed to make a curve at 3691 US 54. Grimmett’s car went off the road, hit a road sign and overturned. Grimmett was taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of moderate injuries.
