Quincy firefighters responded to a report of a residential fire at 412 Cedar about 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Fire crews arrived to find flames visible from a second floor window at the back of the two story home.

The blaze was extinguished in about a half hour.

An investigation indicated that a three-year-old child in the home had taken a lighter and set a pillow on fire.

The was substantial damage to the upstairs of the home.

The mother, 37 year old Tashia Decker and her two children got out of the home safely.
