Three Hurt, Two Seriously, in Separate NEMO Crashes Thursday
Two people suffer serious injuries in a one car crash on Pike County Route V east of Vandalia at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
The Highway Patrol reports 30 year old Wesley Fuget of Vandalia was northbound when he swerved to avoid a deer in the road. Fuget’s car ran off the road, down and back up an embankment and struck several trees.
Fuget and his passenger, 27 year old Amber Hobbs of Curryville, were taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
A Collinsville, Illinois truck driver suffered moderate injuries when he crashed his semi on Marion County Route A south of Taylor at 8:13 p.m. Thursday.
The Highway Patrol reports 28 year old Dakota Mettes was northbound when his semi ran off the road, then back onto the road and overturned.
Mettes was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.
