(BOWLING GREEN)-- The case against a former Curryville city clerk accused of stealing has been continued to January Eighth.

33-year-old Erin Comer is charged with felony theft. She’s accused of stealing 11 thousand 965 dollars and 81 cents in cash from the city over a two-year period.

A Missouri Highway Patrol probable cause statement alleges that Comer pocketed cash that residents paid for water, sewer and garbage bills. The document accuses her of accepting money from residents and marking the bills paid, but then not putting the correct amount on deposit ledgers.

A review of the ledgers and bank deposit statements led to the charge. The job is a hired position.
