In Union, Missouri, it's simply referred to as 'The Screaming House'. How haunted is it? In 1956, the Catholic Church issued a 156 page report officially designating it as 'haunted'.

As they were driving away, one of the kids mentioned that the downstairs monster was standing in the upstairs window. Steven looked back and saw that was true.

When is a home not really a home? When it features demonic infestation, oppression, and possession which are the exact words the Catholic Church used to describe 809 N. Christina Avenue in Union, Missouri.

The LaChance family experienced this massive amount of evil many years ago beginning in 2001 and this is the video that Steven LaChance shares when he tells the story of what happened.

Fright Find compared this home which terrorized the LaChance family to the famous house in Amityville which the Lutz family fled. The Lutz family lasted 28 days in Amityville. The LaChance family only stayed 13 days in 'The Screaming House'.

I heard screaming coming from I don't know where in the house and I don't know who was screaming

Investigators found electronic voice phenomena which captured a voice saying over and over "Please help".

Stephen's son Eliot was once sent inside for a garden hose when they were working in the yard. He was alone in the basement when he heard something behind him. As he started to flee, the steps started shaking.

Days later, Eliot saw a horrifying entity at the top of the stairs in the house which started out as a dark vapor and eventually became a face with no eyes.

A subsequent investigation picked up an EVP that said "I like the little boy".

The final encounter that caused the LaChance family to flee happened on a Sunday night. Steven LaChance shared this story on Legends of America about what happened:

A quick glance. Something moving, standing at the kitchen doorway that led into the family room. Not something – someone. I looked toward it again. It was a dark figure of a man, even though there was full light.

The figure then began to move toward them. Steven directed his kids to get into the car so they could go see grandma and get some ice cream. As they were driving away, one of the kids mentioned that the downstairs monster was standing in the upstairs window. Steven looked back and saw that was true.

That led to a crescendo of activity that led to moving his family out of the home.

In 2005, a landlord referred to the screams heard upstairs as "the little angel screams". I don't believe these were good angels he was referring to. Something much more sinister.

This is the report the Catholic Church issued in their investigation of the home.
