Girlfriends, color for a good cause and classic architecture are on the local weekend calendar.

The annual Great Girlfriend Getaway gets underway Friday night in downtown Hannibal and runs through Sunday, with in-store specials, karaoke, tea with Molly Brown, music and a Sunday brunch among the highlights.

The Color in Motion for Kids in Motion 5K fun run/walk steps off at 9 a.m. in Riverview Park. Proceeds will benefit the Kids in Motion at risk youth program.

Among the other events going on Saturday:

The Ten Mile 4-H Club hosts its semi-annual Hillbilly Auction at the Lewis County Fairgrounds east of Lewistown at 10 a.m.

Bear Creek Sports Park in Hannibal is the location for the local MLB Pitch, Hit and Run competition, starting at 1 p.m. It's free and open to boys and girls ages 7-14.

There's a benefit for Shriner's Children's Hospital in St. Louis at The Junction Lounge in Perry Saturday, with dinner, live music, silent and live auctions, door prizes and a 50/50 raffle, all starting at 5 p.m.

The Marion County Republican Central Committee hosts its annual Lincoln Day breakfast at the Hannibal Nutrition Center Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.

The 5th annual Camp Callahan Dance fundraiser is Saturday at Turner Hall in Quincy. There will be raffles, a 50/50 drawing and, of course, dancing.

On Sunday, the Hannibal Arts Council hosts a free concert featuring the HLGU String Orchestra at 2 p.m.

And, the Friends of Historic Hannibal's annual Historic Homes Tour features five different examples of classic architecture from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
