Ferry and vehicle traffic around western Illinois and eastern Missouri is returning to normal now that the rain-swollen Mississippi and Illinois rivers are receding.
Officials in several Mississippi River towns are cautiously optimistic that they're about to emerge from the flood of 2014 with relatively minor damage.
Flooding along the Mississippi River has once again caused disruptions for residents in and around Quincy. The Memorial Bridge closed to traffic on Monday.
