A Quincy man charged with conspiracy in connection with the death of a Quincy boy made his first court appearance Thursday morning.

24 year old Stefan Crider III is charged with five counts of conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice in connection with the death of 12-year-old Ray Humphrey, Jr. March 28.

Stefan Crider III is alleged to have helped his half-brother, 20 year old Steson Crider destroy or conceal evidence in the case, along with helping Steson Crider leave Illinois after the shooting.

Steson Crider was arrested in Arizona Sunday and charged with first-degree murder.

The Crider’s father and step-mother are also charged with conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice.

There was extra security in the courtroom for Thursday morning’s hearing. The hearing went smoothly, but members of the Humphrey and Crider families shouted obscenities at each other outside the courthouse.
