Well, this is a new one. Missouri has quakes along the New Madrid Fault all the time, but it's not often that you see one which was centered just to the west of the St. Louis area Thursday morning. It's been confirmed by the USGS and was felt by hundreds.

This bizarre Missouri quake struck at approximately 3:30am Thursday morning according to the USGS.

I've seen heard there are many reports online through social media of people that were awakened by the Missouri quake located near Old Monroe. The USGS site almost immediately had dozens of felt reports as of this writing.

No, this is not a big enough quake to do damage, but it's in a part of Missouri that does not often have earthquakes. It's also just slightly concerning that this quake in a weird Missouri place happens immediately after a sudden swarm of 7 that hit near New Madrid, Missouri.

As this is a developing story, it will be updated as new information and reports are issued.
