The area's Special Olympians show off their basketball skills in an exhibition game Tuesday, January 20.

The game will take place at halftime of the Hannibal High Pirates' varsity boys game with Boonville at Korf Gym.

The exhibition features a scrimmage with members of the three Special Olympics teams, along with a showcase by members of the two skills teams.

Also upcoming is the annual Hannibal Polar Plunge on February 28. It's a fundraiser for the Missouri Special Olympics' teams and individuals. Signup for the polar plunge will be available at Korf Gym on the 20th. Polar Plunge t-shirts and souvenirs from Special Olympics and Hannibal Parks and Rec will also be available.

The Hannibal Polar Plunge is the only polar plunge in Missouri that takes place in the Mississippi River.
