State Senator Jil Tracy of Quincy is co-sponsoring legislation offering an alternative plan for the reopening of Illinois businesses in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tracy says the bill would establish protocols for businesses to resume operations and begin rehiring, with public safety guidelines to protect patrons and customers.

The plan is reported to be more expansive than the plan put in place by Governor J.B. Pritzker.

The legislature’s plan would include customer density limits, face covering requirements for employees and regular cleaning regimens.

And, the bill would require any future extension of the Governor’s initial disaster proclamation be approved by the General Assembly.
