Hard to believe but here we are going through our second Halloween whilst dealing with coronavirus, and the state of Illinois has made their guideline recommendations on what you should and shouldn't do during the spooky holiday this year.

According to an article from nbcchicago.com, the state of Illinois wants us all to know that masks are still required under an executive order for all indoor public places, and costume masks aren't a substitute for a "well-fitting" mas to prevent the spread of the virus. Some of the other guidelines include wearing a mask to trick-or-treat, washing hands after handing out or receiving candy, setting up outside to hand out candy as opposed to being indoors with larger numbers of people, and open-air haunted houses are safer and try other outdoor options like haunted woods or a haunted walk.

One of the things that stood out to me is that the state isn't saying no to indoor parties but, according to the article...

"If indoors, mask must be worn in public places, but can also be worn in private settings where physical distancing is difficult. For indoor gatherings, try to increase air flow by opening doors and windows."

While these guidelines may seem strict I can't help but think back to last year at this time when the state of Illinois had a gathering limit of 10 people for indoor events. Do you agree with the guidelines the state has put forward for Halloween 2021?
