Scott’s Case Continued Pending Mental Exam

The case of a Quincy man accused of attacking a Quincy University friar earlier this month will undergo a mental fitness exam.

The preliminary hearing Wednesday for 36 year old George Scott IV was continued pending the completion of a fitness exam by a Quincy psychologist.

Scott is charged with aggravated battery in a public place and aggravated battery of a school employee.

Scott is alleged to have entered the Brenner Library on the QU campus on April 5th and battered a friar with a stick.

Scott is in the Adams County Jail on $20,000 bond.
