Officials in Adams County have asked for the public’s help in filling sandbags.

In light of near record flood crest predictions, the Adams County Emergency Operations Center says that area levee districts and infrastructure needs to be reinforced.

Sandbagging operations will begin at noon Wednesday and will continue through the evening in the east parking lot of the Oakley-Lindsay Center.
All volunteers should be 16 years of age or older and will need to register upon arrival and departure.

Sandbaggers are needed in the Sny Drainage District.

Sny Island Drainage District Chairman Mike Reed asks volunteers to report to the old Hull Implement building in Hull. Work begins today (WE) at 1 p.m.

You are asked to bring gloves and shovels if possible. Sand and bags are provided.

The sandbags will be used in the north end of the Sny Island Drainage District to plug boils that have developed in some areas.
