The ribbon was cut Monday morning, marking the completion of the extension of a Marion County that should make it easier for larger vehicles to make their way through Palmyra.

The ribbon cutting, hosted by the Marion County Commission, opened a half-mile extension of County Road 266 from Business 61 just south of the Palmyra city limits to the west side of town.

Presiding Commissioner Lyndon Bode says the new road should make for better traffic flow, connecting Business Highway 61 with Route C.

Bode says the opening of the extension marks the end of about a two-year process.
