Area marching bands will try again to gather in America’s Hometown for a fall tradition.

The threat of severe weather a week ago resulted in the postponement of the 69th annual Hannibal Band Day. The event was rescheduled for this Tuesday.

The event features marching bands from 28 area schools, beginning with a parade at 3 p.m. on Broadway from Grand Avenue to the levee.

Next comes a field show at Porter Stadium at 6 p.m. Four schools will perform in parade formation and 13 schools performing their field shows.

The Hannibal High School Pirate Pride Marching Band concludes the evening with music from “The Hunger Games.”

Admission to the field show is $5 for adults, $2 for students and $10 per family. The Band Boosters sponsor a concession stand beginning at 4:30 p.m.
