The busy area county fair season continues this weekend with the opening of the Marion County Fair in Palmyra.

The fair opens as it has for many years with the parade stepping off from the high school at 10 a.m.

The parade ends at the courthouse, where the KC BBQ begins on the courthouse lawn at 11 a.m.

The car show begins at the fairgrounds at noon, with awards handed out at 2 p.m.

Also happening Saturday are the Junior Miss and Marion County Queen competitions and the Tate Shade Memorial Bull Bash.

The Marion County Fair continues through August 4th at the fairgrounds in Flower City Park in Palmyra.
