Marion County MO, Brown County IL Fairs in Final Days
A couple of area fairs are in their final days.
The Marion County Fair continues Friday with the Pee Wee Calf Show in the livestock barn at 1:30 and the Demolition Derby sponsored by the Palmyra Jaycees in the arena at 7:30. The art show continues in Floral Hall from 4 to 10 p.m., and the carnival runs from 6 to 10 p.m.
The Brown County Fair also rolls on with the finals of the kid’s pedal tractor pull at 6:30 p.m. Friday, with the Western Illinois Grand National Tractor Pull at 7. Also on tap Friday: the Expo Hall will open and carnival will commence at 6 p.m.
The Marion County Fair in Palmyra wraps up Saturday with the Antique Tractor Poker Run sponsored by the North River Old Iron Club at 8, the livestock sale at 9, the horseshoe tournament at noon, tractor games, also put on by the North River Old Iron Club at 1 p.m. the truck and tractor pull sponsored by the Palmyra Young Farmers at 6:30 and the amateur talent contest at 7.
The Brown County Fair in Mt. Sterling runs through Sunday, with harness races at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, a demolition derby at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and a car show beginning at noon Sunday.
