Ralls County Text to 9-1-1 Now in Service

Ralls County 911 now offers Text to 9-1-1 services.

Executive Director Paul Pedrotti says the option became available to them at no cost and that the system went live on August 4th. Customers of AT&T… Sprint… US Cellular and T-Mobile can text information to 9-1-1 dispatchers for Ralls County. Text to 9-1-1 is intended for use in specific emergency scenarios including for speech or hearing impaired… for someone unable to speak due to a medical emergency… in the event of a crime such as a home invasion abduction or domestic violence incident where speaking might give away where a person is hiding.

Text users are urged to text in simple words. Do not use abbreviations.
