Quincy University Basketball Cracks ESPN Top Ten

On the biggest sports day of the year, you might not expect to see Quincy University Lady Hawk basketball featured on ESPN. But hey, it’s 2017. ANYTHING is possible.

With only 0.9 seconds left in Saturday night’s game and the Lady Hawks down by three, senior guard Lauren Gronewold was set to inbound the ball. With no one defending her, Gronewold threw the ball OFF THE BACK of the nearest defender, caught it, and drained a three pointer to tie the game at 71 with only 0.9 seconds left!

Quincy would go on to win the game 84-80 in overtime. Video of the heads up play made ESPN’s Top Ten, coming in at #8.
