A little over a million dollars in grant money is headed for Quincy Regional Airport.

Illinois Senator Dick Durbin announced Tuesday the city of Quincy has been awarded a $1.1 million dollar grant through the federal Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration.

The money goes toward infrastructure improvements and upgrades at Quincy Regional Airport. Specifically, the grant will be used to build a new taxiway and to improve access to the airfield.
