The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Thursday the Quincy airport will be getting $9-million dollars in supplemental discretionary funding through the FAA’s Airport Improvement Program.

IDOT will kick in a half-million dollars, with a local match also going into the pot.

The money will go toward runway reconstruction at Quincy Regional Airport.

Similar grant awards went to Chicago Rockford International Airport and Willard Airport at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.
